This kitchen remodel was part of a whole home renovation. The color palette and finishes were selected as part of a cohesive look for the home, touching on leafy greens to tie into the lush landscape outside, and whites and wood tones to freshen up the feel. Black metal tones were the perfect fit to keep the home casual and add a dark element to the newly lightened and airy space.
We didn’t have any wiggle room to add square footage to the kitchen, so instead we maximized the existing footprint by getting creative. The kitchen had no room for a pantry, but there was an awkward mudroom space behind the right side wall. We utilized part of that space in exchange for this pantry.
Next, we swapped the fridge from the right side of the window to the left side wall to keep the focal point of the kitchen the window and island. It also made for a better work flow.
We added extra storage with cabinets to the ceiling and continued the cabinets over the sink.
White cabinets and white textured tiles keep it light and spacious, while the green island adds some interest and a touch of color.
The design was intended to be casual and classic.
