Interior Design and home fashion have always been Ellen's passion. She appreciates any space that is well designed and evokes an emotion.  Her local Portland area clients say that her genuine interest in getting to know them transcends into her designs.  She has a way of encompassing their unique life experiences and personalities into their spaces. 
 
After years of working in corporate office settings, she decided to get back to her true passion, decorating. She studied Interior Design at the NH Institute of Art. Over the years she's worked for a local design shop, offering her design expertise in store and on home visits. She also remodeled two personal investment homes to learn the ins and outs of the remodeling business. These experiences have shaped Ellen into a well rounded designer, who is always ready for any design challenge whether it's finding the perfect window treatment or designing a kitchen remodel.

Through friends and neighbors, word began to spread about Ellen's eye for design. The demand grew and Bené Interiors was born.

Although Ellen embraces all design styles, her personal design aesthetic is a fusion of modern and classic, mixing the latest looks with pieces from the past. She has always been drawn to navy blues & aquas, top stitched leather, natural wood grains, and animal themed art. She mixes timeless furniture pieces with modern touches and creates bold statements with lighting fixtures and wall coverings.
