This bath design began with rethinking the existing floor plan to accommodate the homeowners needs. We removed the walls that separated the shower and toilet area from the main bathroom, as well as the existing tub surround, creating a clean slate for the new design. We intentionally preserved the existing windows and adjacent closet, working within the architecture of the home while maximizing the functionality of the space.
The new layout allowed us to incorporate everything the homeowners were looking for: a private water closet, generous walk-in shower, freestanding soaking tub, his & hers vanities, and an expanded linen cabinet. The result is a bathroom that feels significantly more spacious while providing a dedicated place for everything.
The homeowners also wanted the space to feel glamorous and refined, with the sophistication of a luxury hotel. Warm gold plumbing fixtures establish that sense of understated glamour, while Calacatta floor tile laid in a classic herringbone pattern adds timeless elegance.
For the walls, we selected a soft green tile with subtle variations in tone and texture. Rather than allowing the tile’s natural variation to stand alone, we created a custom striped pattern that adds visual interest and gives the walls a more tailored, architectural quality.
The homeowners’ recent trip to Paris became another source of inspiration, bringing a subtle European sensibility to the space. Glass cabinet knobs and pulls paired with coordinating sconces reinforce that aesthetic, while a towel warmer serves as a functional reminder of the comfort and luxury they enjoyed during their stay in Paris.
The finishing touch, and one of our favorite elements, is the hand-blown glass chandelier suspended above the soaking tub. It's sculptural form resembling a cloud of delicate bath bubbles adds a beautiful sense of whimsy to an otherwise sophisticated space.
The finished bathroom balances functionality with refined details, creating a private retreat that feels both luxurious and distinctly personal.
