We transformed this outdated basement to a more sophisticated stylish space to suit the clients' lifestyle. We added a board and batten feature wall in a moody deep green (Under the Sea 693 Benjamin Moore). The lower cabinets were painted the same green, and the upper cabinets white (Snowbound 7004 Sherwin Williams) to unite with the white backsplash tiles and white walls.
To make the space feel as bright as possible we replaced the ceiling lights, added sconces and painted the walls and ceiling in a crisp white. We also white washed the existing brick fireplace. Lighter wood tones wrap the existing support and new fireplace mantel.
We added an area rug to define the seating area and to break up the carpet. Throw pillows, drapes and a pair of leather sling chairs give the space a fresh feel. (Bookshelves will be added between the sconces soon). The door was painted green to "disappear".
